My SEWJO is back from Northern Deb Quilts

I finished a top! This is super thrilling for me since lately I just haven't felt like sewing.  I lost my SEWJO in January and just couldn't get it back.
Well, this past weekend we met up with family.  I met a niece for the first time and her two adorable little girls. I have tops made for the little ones but just haven't had the ambition to quilt them. But now I do!

Summer Moon QAL: December Blocks from Carried Away Quilting


Nothing like waiting until the last stitching minute!  It’s the end of December, and I’ve just finished this month’s blocks for the Summer Moon Quilt Along with Fat Quarter Shop. Our December assignment includes three pretty blocks: Friendship Star, Rocky Mountain Puzzle and Weathervane.


If you’ve been following along, you know that I’m sewing from my stash. The pink, blue and green prints are from Lella Boutique’s Nest collection, while the background fabric is from Corey Yoder’s Strawberry Jam collection. Here are my December blocks.

Time, time, time! from Jan's Quilts



Sew, I had some extra time on my hands between projects; I spotted this neat version of a Friendship Star block and decided to make a couple.  I don't have a plan for them, so I think I'll add them to my stack of 12.5" blocks for future quilts.


This is the tutorial I used.  It was easy and straightforward.  I really like the HSTs in the corners, instead of just a plain square.
